The Popcorn (and Snacks)

Some people don’t like popcorn. Did you know this? It had honestly never crossed my mind until I heard a teacher mention it a few years ago. Now I always include a few non-popcorn options in our snack bars. This year we had six different varieties of gourmet popcorn for the staff to enjoy throughout the day (1/2 sweet and 1/2 savory), in addition to two varieties of Chex Mix and some nuts.

If you have never made gourmet popcorn, don’t be intimidated! You can find all sorts of fabulous popcorn and other snack-y recipes on my Simply Pop! Pinterest board.

TIP: I always schedule snacks for the beginning of the week because the staff loves to snack on them for multiple days. At the end of each day I refill the containers that have extra (stashed underneath the table), and remove the containers that are empty.

Decorations

I used SignUp Genius to coordinate with other members of the Hospitality Committee. I asked that they please drop their popcorn/snack off at my house the night before so that I would have time to fill the glass jars and make them look pretty. After cutting out the labels, I adhered them to the glass jars using Glue Dots.

You can read about the other decorations in the staff lounge and around the school, in our "How to Plan a LEGO-Inspired Appreciation Week" post.
